Jacob Roden

Hello, my name is Jake Roden. I am currently a freshman in the College of Agriculture and Life Science (CALS)  majoring in agricultural business management. I come from a family dairy and crop farm near West Bend, WI.

Following my graduation from Cedarburg High school I attended the Farm and Industry Short Course (FISC) program here at UW-Madison. My time at FISC led me to make the decision to return to UW-Madison to pursue a bachelor's degree in agricultural business management. I knew as soon as I decided to continue my education that Alpha Gamma Rho was the place for me. AGR is very different from any other fraternities on campus. AGR is a social professional organization for those passionate about agriculture. The AGR motto “ To Make Better Men” could not be more true. Living in the AGR house as a freshman has been a great experience. I have become great friends with many of my brothers. AGR truly has a “home away from home” feeling. The people you meet, experiences you have, things you learn, both inside and outside of the classroom, and fun you will have are priceless. I can not recommend AGR enough.

AGR provides generous scholarships to its brothers along with many industry connections, networking events and professional development opportunities that will set you up for success.

My passion for AGR has led me to pursue an officer position in the chapter as the VNR of recruitment. In this position Daniel Zhu and myself work together to recruit men with a passion for agriculture to join AGR, To Make Better Men. If you or anyone you know are interested in attending UW-Madison and joining AGR we would love to talk to you and answer any questions you may have.
