Hi, my name is Gage Anderson. I am from Waupaca, Wisconsin. During high school, I was involved in Cross Country, Trap Shooting, and FFA. I am currently a freshman majoring in Agronomy with a certificate in Agricultural Business Management. I am part of the Collegiate Farm Bureau, Badger Crops Club, and the Crops Judging Team on campus. I am interning at Legacy Seeds where I am working alongside their Research Agronomist.
I first heard about AGR in high school but didn't think much of it until I met Daniel Zhu at an FFA event on campus. He introduced me to the benefits of AGR and invited me for a house tour. Later, I went out to lunch with two of the members, and that's when I realized that AGR was an organization I wanted to join. Being a part of AGR has helped me professionally, as it has enabled me to network with other chapter members across the country. I have attended recruitment seminars and made many great connections. I have made many great memories at AGR, and I find it hard to pick one as there are so many great moments to choose from, including the BBQ Competition, Game Days, and the Brewer Game.
My advice to incoming freshmen is to try different clubs and organizations. Attend a meeting, take a tour, and meet some members because you never know which group might be right for you.
