Connor Schyvinck

My name is Connor Schyvinck. I grew up on my family's beef cattle operation in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Throughout my time in high school I participated in showing cattle, football, hockey, and baseball. I am a junior studying Animal Science. I am involved in many clubs on campus: Saddle and Sirloin, Collegiate Farm Bureau, and Badger Dairy Club. I also have a job at Trans Ova Genetics in Madison whereI am a part time IVF-Embryologist. In the future I plan on working for a cattle reproduction company as well as taking over my family's beef cattle operation to raise show cattle.

I am currently theRecruitment Officer. As the recruitment officer, we host a scholarship program(Competitive Edge) for incoming UW-Madison students. We also attend FFA conventions and admitted students days to build relationships with potential new members. Throughout the semester we host events for potential new members to meet the current members as well as give tours of the house. Recruitment involves working with alumni and constantly networking. Our purpose is to find new members who meet the requirements of an AGR member who will grow and build a better environment now and in the future. If you have any questions I’d be happy to answer them!

I joined AGR after being in a class with four of the current members. They invited me over to the house for dinner and it felt like my home away from home. The bond and relationships  were evident between all of the members and made me eager to join and get involved. After joining AGR I have further improved my professional and social development. AGR has given me the opportunity to network with current members and alumni with similar interests and has furthered my interest in many things that I was less familiar with before joining. Some of my favorite memories include large events such as attending the Brewer Game, Farmers Ball, Badger Games, and working at WorldDairy Expo, but the everyday conversations and relationships are what I’ll truly remember for the rest of my life.
